Open Question: Questions for the Muslims .....?

Before i start, please do not take any of this in the wrong way. I, myself have plently of Islamic friends, and i greatly respect their religion and beliefs. I am not starting a "race war" at all, just want some answers for some questions. 1) The Quaran teaches peace, yet many still preach that all "infidels" should be killed or converted. If so, are my Muslim friends supposed to, be religion, kill me ? 2)The Quaran teaches love for woman and men, yet men are allowed to hit their wives if they "misbehave". This is one of the main things i dont understand. Hitting anyone or anything is aggresiveness, and your doing it to inflict physical PAIN upon someone. There is no love in that AT ALL. 3) The Quaran teaches peace and harmony, but Shia's and Sunnis around the world are constantly killing eachother, even though they are practically the same religion, just a different sect. To my " Christian beliefs", peace and harmony is when you live side-by-side amongst fellow men, with no war, no provocations and certainly no bloodshed among fellow brothers and sisters. I have this friend who is obsessed with current affairs particularly our home country Pakistan. He has some kind of extremist views about america but nothing realistic. He is also against Israel and wishes for the success, peace and well being of palestinian people. We are both 15 years old. He is a good GCSE b-c student, it is improbable that he will attend oxford or cambridge. Will he be able to seriously run for election in Pakistan? Salam w Alaikum w RahmatAllah w Barakatu to all the Muslims and Peace Be Unto you to all the NonMuslims. I wanted to ask how many of you knew what a 'nosism' was and how it is used in the Qur'an. I only began to understand this concept at the age of 15 Alhamdulillah and a shade of doubt was removed from me in regards to the concept of the Trinity. We see in the Qur'an that Allah swt uses the royal "We",and many Christians and NonMuslims consider this an act of alluding to the trinity when in reality anyone who studies the English language would realize that this is not so. The royal we is also called 'Pluralis Majestatis' and is still used in a vast array of works and editorial(s). We see in the Qur'an that Allah swt states: "Oh People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion, nor say of God anything but the truth. Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, was (no more than) a messenger of God, and His Word which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him. So believe in God and His messengers. Say not, 'Trinity.' Desist! It will be better for you, for God is One God, Glory be to Him! (Far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs" (Qur'an 4:171) There is no such concept of a Trinity within Islam,Alhamdulillah. @Imam As a Muslim and a Shi'a I understand there is no concept of one that is in likeness to Allah swt or one on the same level as Allah swt. Voting Question: So you spill hate on One Religion because of that one man?

First and foremost; this is in no intention to create arguments or provoke anyone. I myself am not sure if Osama Bin Laden is behind all these attacks and such, but let me tell you something: I DONT CARE IF HE IS OR IS NOT. The Secretary of the Arab League, Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzamaha, announced the declaration of war against Israel: “This war will be a war of annihilation and the story of the slaughter will be told like the campaigns of the Mongols and the Crusaders.” The Mufti, Haj Amin Al Husseini, who was close to Hitler during the Second World War, added his own bit: “ I am declaring a holy war. My brother Muslims! Slaughter the Jews! Kill them all!” The mini-Holocaust of the Jews in Arab countries. Various documents, some of them discovered only in recent years, show that the declaration of war was far broader. It was actually a declaration of war on the Jews. Research that was conducted, among others, by Prof. Irwin Kotler, former Minister of Justice of Canada, shows that the Arab League formulated a bill that would place a series of sanctions on the Jews, including confiscation of property, bank accounts and more. I'm a Christan but I know very little about the bible and next to nothing about Islam other than a few facts. How are Islam and Christianity similar, I know they are both Abrahamic religions but how are they similar? Is Muhammad mentioned in the bible and is Jesus and the prophets in the bible mentioned in Islam? How does Islam describe the apocalypse? Whats the major difference between the sects of Islam, is it kind of like the difference between Protestants and Catholics before the 1700s or is it much deeper? Does the koran foretell of events like the bible does? If Islam is the religion of peace then why did Muhammad begin the Islamic conquest of the middle east and Europe? Voting Question: Why are Christians pro religious tolerance?

They know the truth... so why allow a retention of ignorance as Islam, atheism, and the other religions? Aren't non-believers sent straight to Hell? If not pardon my ignorance, please, I'm just a child, that hasn't picked up the holy book in a few years - this is why I ask this question... So why would Christians save an atheist from a burning building but not the eternal flames of Hell? Its funny to read the Islamic propaganda online regarding Michael Jacksons supposed conversion to Islam. In 2003 there was some speculation that he might have joined the religion of hate (islam) but that was proven false. Again these rumors resurfaced in 2007. So if he ever "secretly converted" to Islam, he was obviously ashamed of it and had no intention to follow it! Furthermore, if Jackson converted to Islam, his stupid Islamic brother Jermaine must have also felt ashamed of it because he never makes the claim that Michael made the stupid decision to join the religion of hate. Finally, keep in mind, Islam bans music and Michael was about to go on a massive concert tour! How many Cat Stevens (Yusef Islam) recordings have you heard since he converted? None! Resolved Question: Muslims, does the Koran teach that any one who does not follow Islam will go to hell?

Reading the Koran is a very educative and enjoyable experience, and i like the idea that it, in a way, unifies the religions of Judaism and Christianity (or complements them), stating as God the same God met in the bible- the God of Abraham. It seems to me, from the reading I've done so far, that Islam unites the monotheistic religions in a single one. It also seems to me that Islam is a much more tolerant religion than the Western Mass-Media is trying to portray. I recommend to anyone to not let themselves influenced by biased popuar opinions, but to do the research for themselves. Islam is a religion that teaches love just as much as Christianity is. If anyone reads my answers here (if anyone's bored enough, that is...), you'll see that I'm no fan of Islam. My reasons for this are clear: the creation of a phoney "people" calling themselves the "Palestinians" with the express aim of exterminating the Jewish people. But I digress. The other day, I saw a picture of a beautiful, smiling Iranian woman on the BBC website. It was "Neda", and whilst I'd have been happy not to see *the* photo of her, I inadvertantly opened an e-mail sent by a friend, and there she was, lying on the ground with blood pouring from her nose and mouth. I'm a Muslim, and recently I've been feeling empty. Like, I don't feel God's presence the way I used to anymore. I just think that religion is changed. I still believe there's one God, and there's heaven and hell. I believe in all the fundamentals, but it's the little details like music being haram, and having to to wear a hijab (in my opinion, hijab is modesty, not a material object that covers hair) I'm starting to question a lot of things, and every answer I get (from scholars, people online, family, friends, etc) just seems to be contradicting. and this is where I'm getting the feeling that their explanations are man made and not from God, that's why it's so flawed and complicated. So now I feel like Islam isn't Islam anymore. It's hard to explain...like let's say I would have believed in Islam the very first time Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) introduced it, but I don't have faith in the 21st century version of Islam. Get what I mean? I mean come on....there are 4 branches of Islam now. There isn't supposed to be any branch. So I'm doubting a lot...and on top of that, I don't feel like Allah is here for me. I feel like he put a seal on my heart (Like he said in the Quran about the disbelievers) I'm only asking questions and confronting everything because I want the truth and I want to be closer to Allah, but I feel like I'm at the bottom and that I've been deserted for even considering that today's Islam is man made. :( It's really depressing. I am not being mean, but it is very very stupid. If one 'thing' created the universe, then wouldn't there be signs? Let’s All Accept Islam by Bruce Bialosky Mr. Obama, your speech in Cairo encouraged me to reconsider my thoughts on how I view Islam as a religion in today’s society. I have really thought it over and decided to fully accept Islam … with just a few caveats. First, they have to stop treating women as second class citizens. Don’t tell me those head covers are worn by choice. They are forced on them just like honor killings. It is sad the French have it right and we don’t on this issue. This is a country where we have worked for a hundred years to bring equality to women. Allowing any woman to be subservient is disgraceful. And come to think of it, tell your Secretary of State and Speaker of the House to stop covering their heads on visits. They are supposed to be beacons of the women’s movement. By covering their heads, they are not being respectful to their hosts-- they are disgracing every woman who ever fought for equal rights. Next, tell the Islamists to stop killing gays. Maybe gays are not totally accepted in this society, but we have made great progress in the last 50 years. We may not agree on gay marriage, but we certainly agree on equal rights for gays. We don’t allow them to be killed just for being gay. How about the issue of freely elected democratic governments in the Muslim world? Not too many of those around, are there Mr. Obama? When the Islamic world stops being run like feudal societies given up by the rest of the world half a millennium ago, I think it would then be a grand time to accept the Muslims. There is a great change happening in the minds of Indian Muslims. Every one is taking notice that, of late, Mulims are not getting over-emotional and learning to gracefully accept the short comings. Most of them have started listening patiently to the view points of others, howsoever harsh it might be, and learning the art of keeping calm and peaceful. I wish, we could follow the great example shown by our Prophet (PBUH) when it comes to tolerance and patience.
